2024 Year End Report

Marketplace multipliers

Marketplace Multipliers are ordinary people with extraordinary influence! It’s true in the corporate setting, in small business, working from home and after retirement. It’s true while raising children or grandchildren, and spending time in the classroom, clinic, or local coffeeshop.

In 2024, “Marketplace Multipliers” rebranded itself GodWorx emphasizing that God works to equip all Christians to integrate their faith and influence the world around them by making disciples and unleashing the Kingdom of God wherever they are!

GodWorx encourages marketplace multipliers through resources, tools and connection opportunities. Although located on Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn, it’s our updated website at www.godworx.life that houses curriculum, recommended reading, podcast links, church conference recordings, upcoming church conference registration information, and ways to connect with the powerful new prayer resource, “Praying On Offense.”

Why rebrand? Late last year, our strategy team discussed the collective desire to continue to create awareness of the marketplace multiplier ministry through advanced relationships and connection with laity and pastoral leadership, along with an improved digital presence through an updated website and a new social media presence. It quickly became clear that God’s timing was for us to immediately evaluate our current brand.

Our goal was to clarify and optimize our former Marketplace Multiplier brand noting that ministry goes far beyond the corporate setting or workplace. Ministry is for persons in any setting, whether retired, working at home, in a garage or factory, raising children or grandchildren, students, or engaging with their local community.

So, while this movement is not new, our name is new – GodWorx.  The shift clarifies our mission to invite the everyday layperson who “works anywhere” to be influenced by God and become a multiplier everywhere, an ordinary person with extraordinary influence!

KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS

To ensure the GodWorx movement advances with a strong operational foundation even as we further grow the ministry, we are excited to share several key accomplishments in 2024:

REBRANDING
As noted, a successful rebranding effort occurred thanks to amazing creative support and collaboration with The Wesleyan Church Communications Team, officially launching the GodWorx name, website, and social media presence.

PARTNERING
A collaborative relationship is developing with the outstanding “Mobilize the Church” team.

RESOURCING
Marketplace multipliers are still being equipped through our educational Starter Kit, podcasts, and other GodWorx resources.

ENCOURAGING
Pastors such as Steve DeNeff, Michael Rogalski and Arlynn Ellis are continuing to encourage pastors to equip and champion the work of marketplace multipliers within their churches through conferences, work groups and other strategic approaches that best fit the local church’s context.

CONFERENCING

“God is raising up the church’s laity right where they are, to do the very things in the marketplace that pastors do in the church: shepherd the people entrusted to them.”
~ Pastor Steve DeNeff

Marketplace Multipliers conferences are designed to equip and empower laity to do this impactful work of shepherding, and encourage pastors to do the same in their congregations, raising up and commissioning the work of their laity.

Starting in Marion, Indiana, with College Wesleyan Church’s Marketplace Multipliers Conference in April, churches across the country began hosting similar conferences: Community Wesleyan in Horseheads, New York; Radiant Life in Sturgis, Michigan; LifePoint in Waldorf, Maryland, and Crossroads Church of South Texas, San Antonio. (See commissioning services at LifePoint, Community Wesleyan and Crossroads Church.)

The movement of Hispanic marketplace multipliers is thriving. Under Arlynn Ellis’s leadership, we celebrated our first bilingual Marketplace Multipliers Conference!

Attendees were inspired by clergy and front line marketplace multipliers … those who are just getting started in their roles as shepherds in the workplace, as well as from those who’ve been at it for a while.

PODCASTING
The “GodWorx” podcast is continuously being refined. Hosted by Strategy Team member Earl McJett, the podcast remains a source of insight and inspiration through conversations with pastors, as well as church, business and academia leaders. Engaging guests with varied backgrounds and professional experiences leverages their marketplace influence as they share their journeys of faith integration, making disciples and unleashing God’s kingdom. The 10-20 minute episodes are available on the GodWorx website and all major podcast platforms.

CRECIENTE
Strategy Team member Arlynn Ellis is developing and leading four teams of pastors and lay leaders from Hispanic Wesleyan Churches from across the U.S., Mision Multiplicacion, encouraging the work of marketplace multipliers and empowering pastors in their various congregations. The four teams focus on marketing, discipleship, chapter development and grant funding.

PRAYING
The PRaying On OFfense (PROOF) app is helping leaders increase their awareness of how God is already at work in the world around them, and how they can best steward their spiritual influence through intentional prayer.

Developed by Strategy Team member Jeff Clark, “Praying on Offense,” is as easy as 1, 3, 2! When you pray on offense, you commit to:

  • Take spiritual ownership of 1 space God has already placed you in,

  • Embrace a deep sense of calling to 3 people already in that place, and

  • Ask God 2 questions:

    – What do you want me to know (about my 3 people that can be helpful in pointing them to you)?
    – What do you want me to
do (with the information I now have)?

PROOF is helping people naturally infuse spiritual influence and prayer in places beyond church walls. A book with the same title was published in the spring of 2024, along with additional resources that can help all people with a hunger to grow in prayer and spiritual influence.

UPCOMING EVENTS
The 2024 Marketplace Multipliers/GodWorx conferences were only the beginning! More churches are discovering the importance of challenging and equipping their congregations. Dates are being established for upcoming conferences. Registration links will be posted on our website as each is scheduled.
